The design features of the button bit include the use of three wings and four teeth, and the eccentric design of the center tooth. This design facilitates bridging cracks with the three side teeth when breaking rock, allowing each column tooth to bear a reasonable rock breaking area. The center tooth is slightly higher than the side teeth, favorable for positioning, and opens the free surface for the side teeth. The side teeth are tilted outward at a certain angle to ensure that the drill hole diameter is larger than the drill bit diameter, which is beneficial to slag discharge. The tail of the drill head is a cylinder, and the transition between the head and tail is a conical surface, which reduces rotational resistance and facilitates slag discharge and undoing. In addition,the drill head has two φ6mm water holes,to achieve effective slag discharge and lubrication,to reduce repeated crushing,to increase drilling speed. In practical applications, the application results of column-tooth drill bits in ore rock tunnel excavation show that the drilling speed is 24~43.7% higher than that of the slotted drill bit, the life is extended by 1.02 times, and the cost of the drill bit is reduced by 20% . These data show that button bit has significant advantages in improving work efficiency and reducing costs.
