How to maintain PDC drill bits?
Choose the appropriate drill bit type according to the formation lithology data, hydraulic power and drilling parameters.
(1) Select the corresponding nozzle according to the hydraulic parameters. The nozzle hole size should not be too large to avoid erosion of the flow channel.
(2) Before the PDC drill bit is lowered into the well, check whether the drill bit size and model meet the use requirements, whether the nozzle is installed correctly, whether the size is correct, and whether the drill bit connection thread specifications meet the matching joints.
(3) The PDC drill bit should be lowered into the well according to the prescribed downhole operating procedures. After the drill bit contacts the bottom of the well, it must be lightly pressed and slowly rotated (drill bit weight 10-20KN, speed 60r/min) for 30 minutes. The drilling pressure is the same as that of ordinary drilling.
(4) During the drilling process, the operation should be smooth, the drill should be fed evenly, and sudden drilling should be avoided.
(5) The drill bit should be stored and transported in wooden boxes and soft material packaging boxes to avoid damage.
(6) PDC drill bits should be stored in a room with a temperature of 10~30℃, kept dry, ventilated, and protected from sunlight and rain. Stored under this condition, the shelf life is five years.
